Forever My Dad - Safe in God's Arms

May 25, 2026

On May 10, 2026, Mother's Day, my world changed forever when I lost my father.

Nothing truly prepares you for the loss of someone who has always been there. No matter how much time you have together, it never feels like enough. One moment they are part of your everyday life, and the next, you are left with memories, stories, and a space in your heart that can never be filled.

My father was a man of faith, kindness, and love. He believed in helping others and giving back to his community. He was a proud and devoted member of the Knights of Columbus and spent many hours volunteering at the soup kitchen, helping those who were less fortunate. He never looked for recognition or praise. He simply believed it was the right thing to do.

He was also someone who loved to build things. Whether it was a project around the house, a repair, or something he created from scratch, he had a gift for working with his hands. What always amazed me was how everything he built seemed to turn out beautifully. He took pride in doing things properly and never cut corners. His work reflected the kind of person he was, hardworking, patient, and dedicated.

Family meant everything to him. He looked forward to family gatherings, holidays, and any chance to spend time with the people he loved. Some of my favorite memories are the simple ones, sitting together, sharing stories, laughing, and enjoying each other's company. At the time, those moments seemed ordinary. Today, they are some of my most treasured memories.

Grief is a difficult journey. Some days I can smile as I remember him, and other days the loss feels as heavy as it did on that Mother's Day when we said goodbye. I still find myself wishing I could hear his voice, ask his advice, or see him walk through the door one more time.

Although my heart is broken, I am incredibly grateful for the years we shared, the lessons he taught me, and the example he set for everyone who knew him. His faith, generosity, and love for family will continue to live on in the lives he touched.

I miss you every day, Dad. Thank you for everything you built, everything you gave, and all the love you shared. You will never be forgotten.
